Venice: Like Crayons (DAY 5)

This post is SO SO colorful you might just think the rainbow smashed right in your face! Right from the start with “home” cooked breakfast. It’s amazing how tasty and awesome looking the dish churned out. It was so good, they need to win an award for it! So I hereby announce the award winning dish, macaroni soup! And the chefs behind, Ant & Wy. Gong xi u all.

The water level as you can see has risen to a mark where the steps has been covered. It’s a good thing we will never see Venice sink during our time otherwise it’s kinda sad to see it go. Such a beautiful place. On another thought, It’s like when it does sink, the mermaid will have a ready made beautiful city to call home? haha ok that’s really naive to believe in mermaids.. but I really do wish there were. Kind ones ok not the witchy piranha ones we see in Pirates of the Carribean. Not sure what I’m talking about? Check this link: http://bit.ly/1dlaDjZ

We went island hopping since just Lucianda itself was pretty much covered. From Venezia we took a ferry to the nearby island, Murano & Burano. Murano, a 20mins boat ride really nothing much. A place that produces exquisite glass pieces. There’s a glass making factory and showroom for tourist to visit. We didn’t enter the factory because we had to pay to go in.

The demonstration of the glass blowing also damn short. It’s optional to give some token of donation after. Even though it was kinda boring, we bought our first object here haha. Wy bought us the mini glass octopus. It was kinda pricey though.

There was a gallery featuring Marina & Susanna’s works and it’s too bad that no photography was allowed. If you look at the dress behind, it’s actually an amazing piece because it’s made of glass. Like glass bubble beads held together with strings. And there were really intricate jewellery pieces that were super nice.  Manage to find an up close picture of the dress. See it here! Still… that picture doesn’t do justice.

Burano, another 40mins away was alot more interesting. Not because of the things to do there but the vibrancy of the island beautify by the colorful buildings.

This yellow wall entertained us for quite awhile. Don’t ask me why cause it just happened. We make Coldplay’s song “Yellow” came true.

So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to have done,
And it was all yellow.

The way back to Luciano had this sight of kids playing soccer amidst the old buildings/ churches. I think is very swee. Reminds me of the soccer apparel ad where the soccer players dribble the ball in sandy places.

We started our muse again. Dirty Laundry band photo #3, 4, 5. And they made me lead singer… xie xie lol. It seems like I have an injured arm in these band photos apparently.

You know what’s sweet? A tiramisu and…..venice-5-112

a picture of a couple’s back view to end off the post of Venice.
