Florence: Little Flower Pot (Day 9)

I titled this the little flower pot since florence not only has been named the city of flowers,  the flourishing city is filled with colors (less gloomy), street artists and good looking people.

So we arrived after losing our way for an hour from the train station with our muthafarking heavy backpack. We had to climb a steep flight of stairs and it was really no joke. Wasn’t funny at all. But the accommodation was an awesome open concept stay.

Until!!! The chef fried garlic and stink up the apartment and the freaking blood sucking mosquitoes while we slept on the 2nd level. I didn’t had a good night rest and woke up with like 10 bites and it itched like hell wtf. Apparently, the breeding of mosquitoes are voracious in Florence because of the rivers and docks according to the owner. Maybe the open concept bathroom contributed to the breeding.

And so I was literally wearing a black face because it really made me grumpy. The remaining nights we threw the mattresses down and it was so so much better. However, Eileen & Ant had to experience our pain because the mosquitoes followed suit. We, the 3 of us were annoyed and woken up by buzzing mosquitoes at our ears on one night? We started chatting & joking, played some mobile games before we fell back to sleep.

The next day, we set foot to explore the beauty of the city despite every night…. mare. And we found this place with really fabulous seafood salad. It was like awesomely refreshing, like an engulfment of ocean in the mouth. There were a variety of pastas and the serving was quite decent.

Saw this dude entertaining the pedestrians. The people walking pass was quite a sport too. Played around with him and all.

Historic Centre of Florence. The noon sun was too harsh for taking pictures but imagine it with the golden light at sunset.

There was one corner we bumped into that randomly had an art installation.

Playing on the Cycling-Up (riding up) and Up-Cycling (process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality, with a guarantee of greater environmental vale) we had the idea to reuse one of the symbols of everyday life of the Florentines, the bicycle in an installation that represents the desire for redemption of the Italian people that “look up” to the future, synonymous of the ability to reinvent ourselves, aspiring to improvement and (why not?) to success. A green carpet will mark the path to heaven for spectators and bicycles. – Project by Simone D’Auria

Totally unplanned, she wore stripes and I was in dots. I think this is funny because I was talking.

The first day in Florence, we really took our time, take a slow walk and stopped more frequently, feel the vibe of the city, people watch, scenery viewing and we headed back early to prepare ourselves for a tour the next day to Tuscany.

This looks quite creepy. Accidentally caught this on camera with my unsteady hands resulting in the flaming door.

Found a dope record store selling 2nd hand vinyls near the accommodation.
